Stryker’s System 8 power tool family helps deliver increased reliability in the O.R. and throughout the hospital. The system brings additional tools for dedicated orthopedic applications within one product line. Building upon the strength of its predecessor, System 7 power tools, System 8 was developed by working closely with orthopedic surgeons and hospital staff to focus on ergonomic performance. New features include handles that help encourage neutral surgical wrist positioning, as well as textured surfaces for secure gripping. Tekna assisted with these ergonomic advancements, in addition to the system’s aesthetic design. System 8 is also the first in a series of Stryker smart devices that will connect to Smart Equipment Management (SEM), an online data module that aids in smart device management through responsive, actionable data.
